About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and creative Marketing & Content Intern to support our digital marketing and communications initiatives with our audience of cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, content creation, and working across multiple digital platforms to bring change and information to the cancer community. About Us
My name is Clare Matschullat, and I am the CEO and founder of Clare the Cancer Sherpa, a company that advocates for cancer patients, caregivers, and survivors. I have been a cancer patient, caretaker, researcher, fundraiser, funder, and advocate in the public and private sectors. My team and I provide guidance and support services from preliminary diagnosis to disease outcome and for every possible medical, emotional, and logistical step in between. We want every patient to benefit from our collective knowledge and experience.
Key Responsibilities
Content Development:
- Assist with brainstorming content ideas and drafting blog posts in alignment with the content calendar.
- Help edit and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and tone consistency.
Blog Management:
- Support publishing on WordPress, including formatting, tagging, adding meta descriptions, images, and calls-to-action (CTAs).
Email Marketing:
- Support campaign creation in Klaviyo, including cloning and updating newsletter templates, ensuring UTM tracking, and making design and content updates.
Graphic Design:
- Create on-brand graphics in Canva across formats for social media, blog, and email.
Social Media Management:
- Schedule and post content across Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Help monitor engagement and track performance metrics.
Asset Organization:
- Source, organize, and maintain visual assets for blog, email, and social channels.
Qualifications
- Strong writing, editing, and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn WordPress, Klaviyo, and Canva.
- Understanding of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices.
- Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate within a small team.
- Interest in storytelling, design, and digital communications.
