We are seeking a digital content professional with strong editorial judgment and operational discipline to manage our day-to-day digital publishing engine and continuously improve performance across platforms. This person thrives at the intersection of storytelling and systems. The Officer, Digital Content & Audience reports to the Director, Marketing & Creative and works closely with the full Communications team. In this role, you will own and manage our editorial calendar, bring focus to priorities and workflows, and ensure our website, email and social channels reflect a clear, consistent and compelling institutional voice.
This is a full-time position based in our Miami, Florida headquarters.
Key Responsibilities Include:
- Own and operationalize Knight Foundation’s editorial calendar, establishing a reliable weekly planning cadence that stakeholders trust and a sustainable publishing rhythm across channels.
- Develop efficient workflows, including documented processes, templates and quality controls that reduce friction, increase speed and maintain high editorial standards.
- Write, edit and produce digital content, including website articles and features, email newsletters, and social media posts and assets.
- Package and publish content across channels, adapting framing, format and length while maintaining brand standards and institutional voice.
- Partner with the Director, Marketing & Creative on design needs and brand alignment.
- Execute on a community management strategy with a focus on engagement and amplification of grantees.
- Develop and execute distribution plans for individual content items, including posting schedules, cross-channel repurposing and basic SEO and newsletter optimization.
- Track performance data, identify patterns and synthesize findings into actionable insights that improve audience engagement and email and social performance.
- Source, brief and manage freelancers and vendors, ensuring they meet editorial standards, deadlines, brand guidelines and budget expectations.
- Monitor audience behavior, platform changes and relevant cultural trends, and translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform content themes, formats and strategy.
Things we look for in a successful candidate:
- Exceptional writing and editing skills, with demonstrated experience producing digital-first storytelling.
- Strong editorial judgment and fluency in platform-native storytelling, particularly on LinkedIn and Instagram.
- Proven ability to operate an editorial calendar and manage multiple stakeholders and deadlines.
- Experience managing social media accounts for high-profile brands, organizations or public figures.
- Comfort using analytics tools and translating performance data into clear recommendations for improvements.
- Experience managing freelancers and vendors, including clear briefing, scoping and quality control.
- Familiarity with mission-driven organizations, philanthropy or civic impact storytelling.
