DCWP is seeking a highly organized, creative, and proactive Deputy Chief of Staff to join the Executive team and help advance DCWP’s mission. Reporting directly to the Chief of Staff, the ideal candidate will possess strong project management, relationship management, policy analysis, legislative text analysis, and communication skills.
As directed by the Chief of Staff, responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Executing discrete, complex projects including drafting memos, background documents, presentation materials, reports, and other documents that distill dense issues for internal and external review;
- Communicating executive team goals to senior leaders to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively
- Providing guidance to the executive team on project management for the coordination and alignment of diverse agency functions;
- Supervising ad hoc project teams to work on new initiatives and new legislation that impacts multiple divisions;
- Serving as a liaison with City Hall, other city agencies, and internally with other DCWP divisions; and
- Representing and/or joining the Commissioner at public functions, as needed.

Preferred Skills
- Graduate degree or 5 or more years of experience in government and/or non-profit organization - Strong research, quantitative, writing and problem-solving skills - Experience managing complex interdisciplinary projects involving multiple stakeholders - Great interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with staff at all levels and - Multi-Lingual.

Residency Requirement
New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
