San Francisco Village seeks a motivated and versatile Development and Communications Coordinator to support our fundraising and community engagement efforts. Reporting to and providing support to the Executive Director, this role plays a critical part in sustaining and growing the organization's impact by coordinating donor relations, grant support, communications, and outreach activities. Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Fundraising
• Assist with planning and executing annual fund campaigns, donor appeals, and special fundraising initiatives
• Maintain and update the donor database (CRM), ensuring accurate records of gifts, pledges, and donor communications
• Draft acknowledgment letters, thank-you notes, and donor stewardship communications
• Support grant research, writing, and reporting for foundation and government funders
• Help coordinate fundraising events, including donor cultivation events and the annual gala
• Track fundraising progress against goals and prepare regular reports for staff and board
Communications & Marketing
• Create and distribute the organizational newsletter and other regular member and donor communications
• Manage and grow the organization's social media presence (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.)
• Maintain and update website content, ensuring accuracy and freshness of information
• Develop compelling stories that highlight member experiences and organizational impact
• Support the production of the annual report and other key publications
Community Engagement & Administrative Support
• Serve as a welcoming point of contact for members, donors, and community partners
• Support the coordination of community events, programs, and volunteer engagement activities
• Assist with board meeting preparation, including materials and minutes as needed
• Provide general administrative support to the Executive Director
QualificationsRequired
• 2+ years of experience in nonprofit development, communications, or a closely related role
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency with donor databases or CRM platforms
• Experience managing social media accounts and creating digital content
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Genuine commitment to the mission of supporting older adults to age well in their communities
Preferred
• Experience with grant writing and foundation relations
• Familiarity with email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp, Constant Contact)
• Basic graphic design skills (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite)
• Website content management experience (e.g., WordPress, Squarespace)
• Knowledge of or experience working with older adult populations or aging services
Compensation & Benefits
• Annual salary: $60,000
