About the Role
HAN Capital Group (operating as Heartland Parks and Storage Management Solutions) is hiring a People & Office Operations Manager to lead the people and office operations function for our portfolio of RV resorts, campgrounds, and storage facilities across multiple states. This is a senior, broad-scope role that combines traditional HR generalist responsibilities with Google Workspace administration, light IT triage, executive administrative support, and oversight of our office operations function.
The People & Office Operations Manager reports directly to the EVP / COO and serves as the senior people-side leader for a 45+ facility portfolio with 30–60 W-2 employees depending on season. This role is designed for a senior practitioner who can own multiple functional areas, work autonomously, and build operational infrastructure across a multi-state, multi-site business.
This is a leadership seat — not a coordinator role — and is well suited to an HR professional ready to step into broader scope and visible impact.
Objectives of This Role
• Own end-to-end People Operations across HAN's multi-state portfolio
• Administer the company's Google Workspace environment for all employees
• Provide light executive administrative support to ownership and the COO
• Manage and develop the Office Manager (oversees property management, office management, and business licensing)
• Drive employee engagement and retention across corporate, site-based, and seasonal staff
• Ensure multi-state HR compliance across all operating states
• Manage the relationship with our PEO (S2 HR Solutions / Engage PEO) and payroll platform (PrismHR)
People Operations Responsibilities
• Lead recruiting and hiring across the portfolio: corporate, site GMs, maintenance, hospitality, and seasonal staff
• Manage job postings across Indeed, LinkedIn, and industry-specific boards; coordinate hiring manager interviews; manage offer letters and pre-employment documentation (background checks, references)
• Administer new-hire onboarding: paperwork, I-9 / E-Verify compliance, Google Workspace provisioning, equipment setup, and 30 / 60 / 90-day check-ins
• Coordinate offboarding: account deactivation, equipment return, final pay coordination, and documentation
• Process semi-monthly payroll through the PrismHR / Engage PEO platform — including timesheet review, OT calculations, bonus entry, PTO tracking, and submission
• Coordinate annual open enrollment (December) and ongoing benefits administration through Engage PEO
• Administer comp and incentives programs across the portfolio
• Drive employee engagement, recognition, and feedback programs (newsletter, MVP recognition, anniversaries, surveys, and engagement metrics)
• Coordinate required compliance training (harassment prevention, fair housing, safety) and track completion across sites
• Maintain handbook, policies, and employee directory; ensure currency across all operating states
• Coordinate employee relations matters with PEO and outside counsel as needed; maintain documentation discipline
• Build and maintain an HR SOP library covering recruiting, onboarding, performance management, offboarding, and leave administration
Office Operations & Administrative Responsibilities
• Provide light executive administrative support to ownership and the COO (scheduling, calendar coordination, ad hoc administrative needs)
• Provide oversight, development, and direct management of the Office Manager
• Coordinate with the Office Manager on multi-entity business licensing renewals and corporate filings
• Partner with department leads on office-related logistics, vendor relationships, and operational continuity
Google Workspace & Light IT Administration
• Administer HAN's Google Workspace environment: create and manage user accounts, Gmail, Google Groups, distribution lists, calendars, and Drive permissions
• Set up new hire accounts and offboard departed-employee accounts with appropriate data retention
• Manage shared mailboxes, aliases, calendar permissions, and Drive access by role and property
• Provide first-line IT triage for staff issues (account access, password resets, basic device troubleshooting); escalate to outside IT support as needed
HR Compliance & Strategy
• Maintain multi-state compliance across all operating states (IL, IN, CO, MO, WI, NE, TX, SD, OH, FL, and additional states as portfolio evolves)
• Advise on employment law changes affecting HAN's portfolio
• Conduct periodic HR audits to identify risk and compliance exposure
• Participate in HR strategy development and metrics; provide quarterly engagement reporting to the COO
Required Qualifications
• HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) OR a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field
• 5+ years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years at the manager or senior generalist level
• Demonstrated comfort and proficiency administering Google Workspace (Google Business), including managing user emails, Google Groups, distribution lists, calendars, and Drive permissions
• Experience working with a PEO and processing semi-monthly payroll (PrismHR or equivalent platform)
• Strong knowledge of multi-state HR procedures, policies, and federal/state employment laws
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with strong ethics, cultural awareness, and high tact and confidentiality
• Resourceful, problem-solving aptitude with strong attention to detail
• Advanced knowledge of MS Office and comfort learning new technical systems
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting a multi-state and/or partially remote workforce
