Role Snapshot – Strategic Communications for Social Impact
We’re seeking a Senior Account Executive to help manage day-to-day client work and support strategic communications programs for social-impact organizations.
This is an ideal role for a communications professional who is highly organized, proactive, thoughtful, and energized by work that contributes to positive social change. You’ll help translate strategy into execution — drafting strong materials, managing workstreams, supporting client relationships, coordinating across internal teams, and contributing to media, digital, and social communications efforts.
This is not a marketing, advertising, or sales role. It is a strategic communications role for someone who enjoys working closely with clients, keeping projects moving, communicating clearly, and ensuring no important details fall through the cracks. The ideal candidate brings experience supporting digital and/or social media communications, including social content development, executive visibility, digital campaigns, analytics, or owned-channel content.
Because much of our work is confidential and trusted, we’re looking for someone with strong judgment, high integrity, who is proactive and has a deep sense of responsibility.
What You’ll Do
- Serve as a reliable day-to-day partner to clients and internal teams, helping manage relationships with responsiveness, clarity, professionalism, and care.
- Support the development and execution of strategic communications programs, including communications plans, media strategies, digital campaigns, social media strategies, and owned-channel communications.
- Translate client priorities, editorial themes, and audience insights into clear content strategies, social media plans, and client-ready recommendations.
- Draft and edit high-quality communications materials, including messaging, talking points, briefing documents, articles, social media posts, LinkedIn and executive thought leadership content, newsletters, website copy, email content, and other client-ready materials.
- Develop and manage digital and social media content calendars, including coordinating inputs, tracking client review processes, managing deadlines, and ensuring content reflects the client’s voice, style guide, and strategic goals.
- Support social media execution across platforms such as LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube, including preparing posts for publication, monitoring engagement, and flagging opportunities or issues for response.
- Support media outreach, story development, thought leadership efforts, executive visibility opportunities, and preparation for meetings, events, interviews, and other public-facing moments.
- Track and analyze social and digital media performance, identifying trends and helping develop recommendations that strengthen audience engagement and client impact.
- Project manage specific lanes of work, including timelines, deadlines, next steps, client requests, and coordination across team members so that questions, opportunities, and deliverables do not fall between the cracks.
- Staff and help manage external events for clients, including supporting preparation, logistics, materials, follow-up, and related communications needs.
- Exercise sound judgment about when to bring in senior team members for counsel, approvals, issue resolution, or potential client delays.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure work is thoughtful, well-organized, strategically aligned, and delivered with excellence.
- Contribute proactive ideas that strengthen client impact, improve audience engagement, and help evolve Newton Street’s digital, social, and strategic communications offerings.
