Position Summary:
The Marketing and Communications Associate is responsible for supporting the marketing department’s initiatives by planning, executing, and tracking marketing programs for AEA. This includes conducting market research, coordinating content creation, managing campaign calendars, and handling various administrative duties. The person in this role promotes the organization’s mission, services, or programs through community engagements, partnerships, and several media outlets. They will report to the Director, Marketing Communications and work closely with the California office and other functional departments to ensure successful project execution and brand consistency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with program staff, development teams, volunteers, and leadership to promote programs, events, campaigns, and success stories.
- Create, edit, and distribute content for newsletters, websites, social media platforms, email campaigns, annual reports, and promotional materials.
- Help maintain the organization's social media presence, including content planning, posting schedules, audience engagement, and performance tracking.
- Create content for digital marketing efforts, including website, email campaigns, and social media presence.
- Work closely with proposal manager, executive and technical leaders to develop and maintain content management systems including text, images, statistics, case studies, program summaries, and other relevant components.
- Ensure consistent branding and messaging in all AEA print and electronic materials such as letterhead, business cards, presentation and staff profile templates, and other uses of logo and branding on websites, brochures, swag, etc.
- Assist in planning, marketing, and executing community outreach events, fundraising events, and awareness campaigns.
- Represent the organization at community events and networking opportunities to build partnerships and visibility.
- Capture and share impact stories, testimonials, photographs, and other content that highlights the organization's work and community impact.
- Assist with crisis communication planning and support organizational responses during sensitive situations.
Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate should have a minimum of 2-3 years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising support, or a related role, along with the following qualifications:
- Experience writing and editing
- Social media management
- Graphic design and branding skills
- Email marketing and CRM systems
- Event promotion and coordination
- Project management
- Analytics and reporting
- Photography and storytelling
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skilled user of Microsoft Office 360 programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with graphic design software (Adobe Suite, or similar)
- Fluency in a language other than English, preferred but not required
