Position Summary:
The Audience Growth & Circulation Manager will support brand-level audience initiatives with a primary focus on print circulation strategy, data management, and subscriber growth. This role blends operational marketing knowledge with audience-first thinking to attract, retain, and optimize high-value print and digital audiences.
The ideal candidate has experience with circulation systems, list hygiene practices, and campaign execution across direct mail, telemarketing, and digital newsletter channels. This position also offers a growth opportunity for a data-minded individual to deepen their skills in cross-platform audience engagement and eventually grow into a senior-level data steward role within the team.
Key Responsibilities:
· Circulation Planning & Execution: Manage audience segmentation, subscription offer testing, acquisition and renewal campaigns, and retention strategy across multiple print brands.
· Audience Acquisition & Retention: Oversee growth tactics including telemarketing, vendor-managed lists, direct mail, and newsletter journeys; optimize list performance and conversion.
· Newsletter Program Support: Coordinate A/B testing and campaign scheduling to drive opt-ins and subscriber retention across brands.
· Data Hygiene & Audience Insights: Ensure audience data quality through regular list cleanup, bounce monitoring, and segmentation improvements in partnership with martech and IT.
· Cross-Platform Support: Collaborate with editorial, design, and marketing teams to ensure integrated messaging and alignment with brand growth goals.
· Performance Tracking: Monitor campaign performance and subscriber metrics using platforms like Omeda, Parse.ly, and Google Analytics; report on progress toward growth KPIs.
· Vendor & Partner Management: Manage relationships with list brokers, telemarketing vendors, and data partners to execute acquisition and renewal plans.
· Innovation & Automation:
Test new technologies and tools that support data optimization, reporting, or workflow automation.
Qualifications:
· 5–7+ years of experience in circulation, direct marketing, or audience development in a media or publishing environment.
· Strong understanding of subscriber lifecycle management, print renewal/acquisition programs, and audience segmentation strategies.
· Experience managing telemarketing campaigns, list vendors, or direct mail programs.
· Proficiency with audience platforms such as Omeda, as well as Google Analytics or Parse.ly.
· Strong organizational and project management skills; ability to juggle multiple campaigns across brands.
· Familiarity with email marketing and newsletter platforms is a plus.
· Comfort working with data; ability to translate analytics into actionable insights.
· Collaborative mindset with a desire to grow into a larger strategic role within the Audience Development team.
