Marketing | Nox Metals | Detroit, MI
American factories deserve a supply chain that moves as fast as they do. The next generation of American manufacturing is being built right now. Nox Metals is the supply chain behind it.
Nox Metals is a technology company in Detroit supplying aluminum plate, bar, and rounds to aerospace and defense manufacturers. We use software and automation to supply metal to American factories faster than the industry thought possible.
We need a Marketing hire to own the entire brand and the content engine behind it. Reels, podcasts, long form, newsletters, customer gifts, photography, video, and the narrative around American reindustrialization. The brand is the company outside of the four walls and you are the one building it. Nox Metals is an employer with real opportunity for long term career growth, this is a place to build a career, not just hold a job.
You will:
- Own the Nox brand end to end, voice, design language, narrative, and every public surface we touch
- Produce content yourself, you shoot, you edit, you write, you post, you do not wait for an agency
- Run social media across every relevant platform, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, and whatever comes next
- Shoot and edit Reels, shorts, long form video, behind-the-scenes content, and customer-facing video on the floor
- Plan, record, and produce a Nox podcast, guests, edits, distribution, the whole thing
- Write and ship a regular newsletter, customers, prospects, recruits, and the broader American manufacturing community
- Write long form content, essays, technical posts, manifestos, and the writing that makes Nox impossible to ignore
- Design and ship customer gifts and treats, the unboxing experience, the swag, the hardware, the small things that make customers love us
- Run brand photography across the factory, the team, and the customers, every shot on-brand
- Own all design work end to end, decks, one-pagers, web, social, print, every artifact reflects the Nox aesthetic
- Build and run our website end to end, copy, design, updates, conversion
- Run small, surgical paid campaigns where they make sense, but the engine is owned content
- Capture every piece of content as structured data, every post, every reel, every podcast, every newsletter, performance and feedback
- Partner with sales, operations, and engineering to surface the real stories of the company, the people, the customers, the machines, the work
- Always ask questions, never guess when something is unclear
- Look at every channel, every piece of content, every workflow and figure out how to make it better
- Work safely on the floor when shooting and hold yourself to the same standard we hold our team to
You should be:
- 2 to 3+ years of marketing, brand, content, or comparable production experience, ideally in technology, manufacturing, defense, or fast-moving consumer brands
- A producer at heart, you can shoot, edit, write, design, and ship a finished piece of content by end of day
- Strong design sensibility, your work looks as good as it reads, you can hold the line on a brand
- Cracked with content tools, CapCut, Premiere, Adobe Suite, Figma, Notion, and modern AI tools, you ship faster than anyone in the room
- Comfortable behind a camera and in front of one, you can pick up a phone or a mirrorless and capture something that ships
- Strong narrative instincts, you understand why American reindustrialization, defense manufacturing, and the work happening on the floor matters
- Tightly partnered with software teams in past roles, comfortable writing specs, filing tickets, and shaping the tools you use
- A builder at heart, you would rather ship a working v1 today than ship a perfect v3 next month
- High attention to quality, every reel, every photo, every newsletter, every artifact
- Always thinking about how to make content better, you do not accept "this is how we have always done it"
- Absolutely customer obsessed, every piece of content lands in front of a customer, a recruit, or a future investor
- User obsessed, you sit with sales, operations, and engineering, watch them work, and bring their stories out into the world
- A team player with a good attitude, you make the company better for everyone around you
- Someone who takes ownership, if it has the Nox name on it, it is your responsibility
- Precise under pressure and reliable, content ships on the days you commit to
- Organized enough to run a content calendar across reels, podcasts, newsletters, long form, and customer gifts without dropping one
- Committed to safety, you follow every protocol on the floor when shooting and never cut corners that put people at risk
- High agency, you handle big items alone and ask for help when needed
- Low ego, you walk the floor, you talk to operators, you do the unglamorous work because it needs to get done
- Not afraid to work outside normal hours when America demands it
- Never says "that's not my job"
Nice to have:
- A portfolio of content you have personally produced, reels, video, long form writing, podcasts, design work
- Background producing content for technology, defense, manufacturing, or hardware brands
- Hands-on experience with podcast production, audio editing, and distribution
- Experience designing and shipping customer gifts, swag, or branded hardware
- Strong photography and videography skills, equipment and lighting fluency
- Experience with newsletter platforms (Beehiiv, Substack, Customer.io, or comparable)
- Comfortable using AI tools to work faster and smarter
