How we LEAD:
We are seeking a Press & Publicity Coordinator to support the publicity team across artist campaigns, press materials, media monitoring, events, and media research. This role will help keep press efforts organized, timely, and aligned with artist and label priorities.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, bilingual in English and Spanish, and passionate about Latin music, media, culture, and artist storytelling. They should be comfortable writing, researching, tracking coverage, updating databases, and supporting fast-moving publicity campaigns.
How you’ll CREATE:
- Assist in drafting press materials, including press releases, media alerts, pitches, talking points, artist bios, one-sheets, and briefing documents.
- Assist in translating press releases, artist materials, and publicity documents between English and Spanish.
- Upload press releases and announcements for distribution through Dotmailer or other email distribution platforms.
- Collect information for weekly artist highlights, including press coverage, campaign updates, social moments, industry news, and key artist activity.
- Monitor media coverage for label artists across digital, print, broadcast, podcasts, radio, newsletters, social media, and industry outlets.
- Compile press clippings and organize coverage reports for internal teams, artist teams, and managers.
- Clean, organize, and maintain the publicity contact database.
- Research and add new media contacts, including editors, writers, journalists, producers, podcast hosts, playlist curators, newsletter editors, and digital creators.
- Verify email addresses, outlet information, contact titles, coverage areas, and market details.
- Build outlet wishlists by market, including U.S. Latin, Mexico, Spain, Colombia, Argentina, and other key territories.
- Support events, junkets, concerts, red carpets, listening events, press days, and artist appearances.
- Assist with media lists, press check-in, credentialing, call sheets, interview schedules, talking points, and event follow-up.
- Monitor Universal Music Latino social media channels for press opportunities, fan reactions, artist moments, and cultural conversation.
- Support social media monitoring and strategy as it relates to publicity, artist positioning, and media opportunities.
- Update artist bios, one-sheets, fact sheets, and other publicity materials as needed.
- Monitor competitor artists, industry news, media trends, and Latin music developments.
- Research upcoming cultural moments, award shows, conferences, concerts, festivals, fashion weeks, sports moments, and industry events.
- Track opportunities around Latin Grammy voting periods, Latin Grammy Awards, LAMC, Premios Juventud, Billboard Latin Music Week, FIFA World Cup, Hispanic Heritage Month, Paris Fashion Week, Milan Fashion Week, New York Fashion Week, and other relevant moments.
Bring your VIBE:
- 1–2 years of experience in publicity, communications, media relations, music, entertainment, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Strong understanding of Latin music, Latin culture, media, entertainment, and social platforms.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks, deadlines, and priorities at once.
- Strong research skills and ability to identify relevant media contacts, outlets, and cultural opportunities.
- Experience maintaining contact lists, databases, tracking documents, or media lists.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with internal teams, artist teams, managers, media contacts, and external partners.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities.
- Passion for music, media, storytelling, and culture.
Preferred Experience
- Experience at a record label, PR agency, media company, management company, or entertainment brand.
- Familiarity with Latin music, U.S. Latin media, Spanish-language media, and international media markets.
- Experience using Dotmailer, Muck Rack, Cision, Meltwater, Critical Mention, Google Alerts, Google Sheets, Airtable, Microsoft Office, or similar tools.
- Experience supporting events, red carpets, junkets, artist interviews, concerts, award shows, or media days.
- Knowledge of outlets, journalists, podcasts, newsletters, playlist curators, and digital creators covering Latin music, pop culture, fashion, lifestyle, entertainment, and youth culture.
