About the Role
Becker's Healthcare is the most trusted media brand serving healthcare executives. We reach hundreds of thousands of executives and decision makers across our publications and live conferences. We're hiring a Director of Growth Marketing to drive measurable growth across our conference portfolio and audience. You'll partner closely with the COO and business leaders to translate company goals into marketing strategy, build the campaign plans, and deliver results.
This is a hands-on role for a smart operator who can build the plan and execute it. You'll own the full marketing funnel from awareness through conversion to retention, and partner with our editorial, events, custom studios, and sales teams to amplify our content. Growth here will come from working the levers (strategy, segmentation, sequencing, channels, creative, measurement).

What You'll Own
- Marketing strategy and execution across two priorities: event registration growth and audience/subscriber growth . Goals are set by the business. You build the plan and deliver the impact.
- Full-funnel campaign development and execution. Lifecycle email and nurture sequences, paid acquisition (LinkedIn, Meta, Google, programmatic), organic and SEO, video, social, and partnerships. You will be in the platforms, not just directing them.
- Event marketing across the Becker's conference portfolio. Audience targeting, registration funnels, drip sequences, on-site amplification, and pre and post-event retention.
- Audience and newsletter growth. Convert our editorial output into subscriber acquisition and engagement through welcome series, lifecycle programs, re-engagement campaigns, and smart segmentation.
- Organic discovery and AI visibility. Own SEO and GEO strategy so Becker's stays discoverable across traditional search and AI answer engines. Use AI tools across campaign creation, copy, segmentation, and analysis to extend output and speed without sacrificing quality.
- Proven SEO Leadership: 8+ years of building and scaling organic growth programs at B2B companies, with real command across content architecture, entity authority, technical SEO, and structured data.
- AEO & GEO Expertise: Demonstrated expertise in Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) and a deep understanding of how LLMs retrieve, "chunk," and cite content. You've been tracking citations and testing how content structure affects LLM outputs.
- Technical SEO Mastery: Expert knowledge of technical SEO (Schema, JSON-LD, site architecture) and proficiency with enterprise tools. Experience managing website migrations is highly preferred.
- Marketing tech and measurement. You'll have foundational tooling and own the work to build attribution, reporting, and a test-and-learn cadence that drives decisions.
- External contractor management. Direct external contractors across paid media, creative, search and video to extend execution capacity and speed.
- Cross-functional partnership / Cross-Functional Instincts: You have driven alignment with content, brand, product, and engineering teams, and you understand intuitively that everything the company does feeds organic visibility. Partnership with editorial, custom content studios, events, and sales. Marketing amplifies the work happening across the company rather than duplicating it.

- Not a wait-for-the-strategy-to-be-handed-down role. The plan is yours to build, defend, and execute.
What You Bring
Required
- 8+ years in growth, audience, or lifecycle marketing, with demonstrable ownership of registration, subscriber, or revenue growth at scale.
- Proven track record running and scaling marketing programs across strategy, execution, and measurement.
- Hands-on operator across email, paid, organic, and lifecycle. You can build the campaign, write the copy, set up the automation, and read the results without handing it off.
- Strong fluency with marketing automation and analytics platforms; comfortable with funnel math, attribution, and cohort analysis.
- Working fluency with SEO and GEO, and comfortable using AI tools as leverage across the marketing function.
- Expected experience with standard SEO tools such as SEMRush, Google Search Console, Google Analytics.
- Strong writer with sharp judgment on what converts in a B2B audience.
- Chicago-based with a hybrid in-office cadence.
Preferred
- B2B multimedia, events, membership or subscription business background.
- Experience marketing large-scale live conferences or summits.
- Healthcare industry exposure or fluency with healthcare executive audiences.
What Success Looks Like in the First 6 Months
- Grow registrations across the conference portfolio by double digits year over year
- Grow net newsletter subscribers by double digits
- Stand up attribution that ties marketing spend to registrations / subscriptions
- Build a tested, repeatable lifecycle program for both event and newsletter audiences
- SEO, AEO, GEO audit, improvements, implementation underway and measurable gains
